Grab a tasty meal from our luncheon buffet, then head to a training room to watch a top-ranked Ted Talk video by a world-renowned speaker and author. You might even win a copy of his bestselling book. Following the Talk, a professional ECC facilitator will lead the group in a dynamic discussion resulting in an action step you design for your needs.

Ted Talks Options (rank by first, second and third choice at registration):
How Great Leaders Inspire Action Inspirational leadership begins with asking the right questions. Learn what the most important question is, and how that question can transform your business model. (Simon Sinek, Start With Why)

The Puzzle of Motivation Most managers use traditional methods to motivate employees that simply don’t work. Learn the three things that do motivate employees and the fascinating research behind the principles. (Dan Pink, Drive)

The Secret to Happiness at Work Most people believe that if you work hard, you will be happy. It turns out this thinking is backwards. Learn how to be more productive in this funny and engaging Ted Talk. (Shawn Achor, The Happiness Advantage)

1:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.: A New Business Reality in the Face of “Fake Facts” (Seigle Auditorium)
Stanford researchers have found that today’s student struggles to distinguish ads from articles, neutral sources from biased ones and fake accounts from real ones. How will hiring this generation of employees impact your world of work? Grab dessert and coffee as you head into the Seigle Auditorium to hear a brief overview of this fascinating topic by ECC professors Tim Kaar and David Zacker.

Note: ECC will offer a more thorough presentation related to this topic in fall 2017. We hope you’ll come back for this free presentation!
