Event Description:
Join the Bartlett Area Chamber and guests as we head to Greece! A great safe way to travel with fellow local residents. Our trip is planned, and we will have a guide throughout our stay. Open to all. Friends and family welcome to join us. We will have an informative presentation with all of the details on Tues. Nov. 22nd at Bartlett Park District Community Center. 770 S.   • Departs and returns to/from Bartlett BMO Harris Bank and takes you directly to O'Hare Airport. You are welcome to leave your car for a safe no charge alternative to parking at the airport.
Day 1 – Gateway Airport Home/Athens
Check in at your International Airport for a connection flight for Athens. Cross the International Date Line.
Day 2 – Athens
Change the connection flight and arrive at Athens, the capital of Greece. You will be met at the airport by your tour guide and transfer to the hotel.
Day 3 – Athens
City tour and sightseeing covers for the attractions of Panathenaic Stadium, the Zappeion and the Temple of Olympian Zeus, Acropolis Museum, an ancient citadel located above the city. Explore one of the best museums in the world. Syntagma Square, Ancient Agora of Athens and Theatro Technis Karolos Koun.
Day 4 – Athens/Delphi/Kalambaka
Drive to Delphi, a town on Mount Parnassus. Walk along the Sacred Way, admire the remains of the Temple of Apollo, home of the legendary Pythian Oracle. Drive to Kalabaka at Central Greece.
Day 5 – Kalambaka/Athens
Morning visit to Meteora, a stunning World Heritage site where a series of towering rock formations shelter a number of sacred Eastern Orthodox Monasteries, such as Vlalaam Monastery, Ayios Nikolaos Anapafsas Monastery and Ronsanou Monastery. Return to Athens after a briefly stopping at Thermopylae, where King Leonidas and 300 Spartans fought against the Persians in 480 BC.
Day 6 – Athens/Mykonos
Bus transfer to port of Piraeus where you will catch a ferry to Mykonos, a beautiful island famous for its windmills and jet set lifestyle. The ferry takes about 5 hours and once on the island you will be met and transferred to the hotel.
Day 7 – Mykonos/Santorini
Enjoy the island life at Mykonos, Lounge on the sandy beach, Relax in the bars, pop in the numerous cafes and galleries dotted around the main town. Take local high-speed ferry to the magical island of Santorini, an Aegean paradise. The journey takes about 3 hours and transfer to the hotel upon arrival.
Day 8- Santorini/Athens
Explore the whitewashed towns of Fira and Oia with their view of the volcano. Take high-speed ferry back to Athens.
Day 9 – Athens/Gateway Airport Home
Fly by connection flight to your Gateway Airport home, where you will arrive on the same day.
